Taurus Burns moved to Detroit from Ann Arbor in 1998 to study painting at the College for Creative Studies, and since graduating in 2002, he has exhibited regularly throughout Metro Detroit. Taurus has been involved in several public art projects, including Tiger Town, a county-wide outdoor art exhibition of painted tigers, and the 2007 and 2008 Detroit Festival of the Arts "Street Painting" Exhibitions. In Hour Magazine's 2007 Best of Detroit issue, Taurus was listed as one of the "Best Local Artists to Collect". Taurus has successfully completed many commissioned paintings, including a large scale mural at Caruso Caruso in Birmingham MI in 2006, and a painting representing Detroit in a national choir competition sponsored by Verizon Wireless in 2008. Taurus is currently on the exhibition committee at the Detroit Artists Market, a gallery that has been dedicated to the promotion and education of contemporary art since 1932.
